THREE BIG THINGS THIS WEEK

  1. Andrea has been working on the Surplus Production model and is making great strides with respect to making comparisons to other Surplus Production models. There are some kinks with the Bayesian estimation that she is currently working out, which will also help the Catch-At-Age model, before we can release it.

  2. We are still working on rebasing the dev-projections-caa branch to dev. Once this is complete, the vignette needs to be finished and then the branch can be merged into dev for a new release.

  3. Bai is working on adding diet and ecosystem data to simulated data sets available from Ecopath with Ecosim models to facilitate testing of the use of Dynamic Structural Equation Modeling (DSEM) within FIMS.

The theme set of ‘Celebrating a century of marine science’ within ICES Journal of Marine Science is about to close on January 30, 2026. We submitted our FIMS manuscript to this special issue but we are still waiting on receiving reviews.
